I believe that Language unites us not divides us.
Language is important, because it helps millions of people communicate. Language is a part of speech that is important and sometimes needed for one's survival. When you move to a different country or region, learning the local Language will help you to communicate and integrate into the local community. Even if the locals speak your language, it's still worth your while to learn the local language, doing so will demonstrate your interest in, you are commitment to a new country. As globalization and mobility in communications are bringing the world ever closer together it's more urgent for global citizens to be competent in other languages. For example, there are dozens of dialects of Chines, but there in one single national language that helps to bind those people together as one nation. I think that language helps to create a national identity. It also offers job opportunities, if you know more than one language it can guarantee you a better job that will be higher paying than if only one language is known. Another example is this school MCTC is a diverse school, students from different cultures and different places but the one thing that unites them in Language.
